Here&#8217;s one reason: They use the same recipes over and over!<\/p>\n<p>Does that sound crazy? Terribly boring?<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s actually not crazy or boring at all, because good cooks don&#8217;t use the same recipe, exactly the same, over and over. Instead, they take one basic recipe and swap out ingredients for endless variety.<\/p>\n<p>And because they are following the same outline over and over, it&#8217;s fast and easy, i.e., it makes tasty and healthy meals totally doable on an everyday basis.<\/p>\n<p>Give it a try with this Fresh Dill Pistou.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pistou Redux:\u00a0 Fresh Dill Pistou<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6327 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/cookhappylivehealthy.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Dill-Pesto-Bowl-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"404\" height=\"303\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Remember the recipe for <a class=\"v1link-id-lvl3d56hu\" href=\"https:\/\/app.getresponse.com\/click.html?x=a62b&amp;lc=hl2EiY&amp;mc=I6&amp;s=0VJ0cm&amp;u=BDYYv&amp;z=E9bbty7&amp;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><u>Fresh Herb Pistou<\/u><\/strong><\/a>? It&#8217;s pretty easy to remember: A few pecans, a little oil, about a cup or so of fresh herbs, plus salt and pepper. To assemble, chop the nuts first then add everything else and process.<\/p>\n<p>So it was pretty easily to use up the rest of my fresh dill by simply swapping out:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Dill for the fresh herb combo (and I did include the stems this time because they are very tender;) and<\/li>\n<li>Pistachios for pecans (because why not vary things a bit?)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div>\n<p>I used the pistou to top both cooked carrots (or sauteed zucchini, or roasted cauliflower, steamed asparagus, etc.) and a chicken breast. Did you notice the color in the photo above!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prefer an Even Easier Option?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Just sprinkle dill over white fish or chicken breasts and you&#8217;ll still get plenty of spring flavor. Options: Saute some green onions with the fish or chicken and put them on top. Add lemon.
