  • sticking to a healthy diet
  • having good energy
  • enjoying a healthy weight
  • beauty from the inside out
  • less mealtime stress
  • more interesting meals
  • eating lots of vegetables

. . . we can transform them into real meals on your table, everyday!

How Does It Work?

As in our group classes, one-on-one coaching draws on The New Kitchen Way® to help you make real, whole, health-giving meals in a way that’s fun, delicious and no big deal. We work with the same 3 Habits and Skills to help you be new in your Cooking, your Kitchen and your Thinking.   However, we personalize the work to fit your particular needs and circumstances, paying special attention to the 6 KitchenSmart® skills and habits.

First We Clarify  We talk about your specific eating hopes and dreams, translating them from vague, “someday” wishes into clear, solid goals.

Next We Brainstorm  What skills, tools, strategies and mindsets are you missing to make your goals happen?

Then We Plan  Based on your needs, we plan your personalized “curriculum, which will focus on each of the three areas of being new in your Kitchen, your Cooking or your Thinking.

Finally, We DO!  Together we move past talking and get down to action, which may include one or more of the following, depending on your needs:

  • Finding new and inspiring recipes that meet your health goals while also adding fun and pizzazz to meal making
  • Organizing unruly recipe heaps so new, healthier meal ideas are easily accessible
  • Planning meals to meet your health and diet needs
  • Buying knives, pans, spices or whatever else is needed so meal making is delicious, manageable and hassle-free
  • Cooking and learning the fundamentals to make healthy meals that you love
  • Clearing cupboard and counter clutter so the kitchen becomes a friendly ally on your healthy eating journey
  • Experimenting with fun new flavors and healthier options
  • Transforming your thinking and mindsets so you feel empowered and inspired to make the kinds of meals you really want to be eating.

Coach-on-Call Option: Quick Questions, Quick Answers

A unique form of coaching, you can buy “coach-on-call” time in hour-long blocks and use whenever you need quick advice from a kitchen expert—or maybe just some inspiration or motivation.  Use your time in 15-minute quick consults when something small comes up:

  • You’re at the grocery store, wondering what kind of sauce would work well for a vegetable pasta dish
  • You’re cooking a Mexican dish and discovered you forgot to buy green peppers; is there a substitute?
  • You’re planning a meal for company and can’t think what to put with the entrée
  • You’re trying and new recipe and don’t understand what it means to “blanch the beans.”

What Others Are Saying

Cooking Inspiration

Thanks so much for cooking with me.  My brain had really shut down and I couldn’t come up with any ideas for meals.  You really put a key in the door and opened me up to all sorts of possibilities that I never would have thought of on my own.
Cheryl

Spend Less Time, Get Healthier Meals

I loved Mary’s advice on how to organize meals and shopping to minimize time spent doing both–and still get healthy food on the table. Her advice was clear and practical. I’ve implemented many of her suggestions, including putting together a notebook with favorite quick recipes that I can use on weeknights when time is at a premium, and using weekly menu planning as a basis for my shopping list. Mary’s advice helped me reach my ultimate goals of not having to run to the grocery store several times a week, eating healthier meals, and being less stressed out about dinner preparation.

Saving Steps and Solving Problems

It was fun to get my kitchen in order, and it really made things easier.  After reorganizing my drawers and cupboards, I wasn’t moving around the kitchen so much to get a meal together.  I also feel like things are purposeful now.  Before they were so random.  I would do all this walking back and forth, but it was just taking up time.  It wasn’t solving my problem or getting dinner made.  Now, I know right where to get what I need and it makes sense.

Discovering the Link between Organization and Healthy Eating

Thank you so much for your excellent work with me yesterday. I really appreciate your gift as an organizer and health coach in setting up a healthy kitchen. It makes such a difference that you assessed my specific space and talked with me about making it work for my needs. I have re-arranged my pantry and dish-space to follow my new plan. It makes so much more sense to me now.

Making a Small Kitchen Work

It would take ten pages to review all the work we accomplished in Mary’s visit. The bottom line is that her genuine love for this work was inspiring. I could never get my husband or best friend to care as much as Mary did about creating a functional kitchen for me.  It is such a personal matter and it was invaluable to involve a creative professional like Mary. Now I don’t waste time searching for things and clearing off space. And to me, my kitchen looks bigger than before!
Janet (after organizing her tiny, trailer-home kitchen)

A Victory Call

This is a victory phone call. We just finished the last piece of the kitchen reorganization you recommended and it is like moving into a brand new house. It’s the biggest this kitchen has ever felt—and the most inviting and welcoming. It is fantastic. We are all so happy. Thanks for your consultation.”
Sue

Meal Planning Joy

Guess what? I did my meal plan for the week! A few things have changed, but it’s great to have an idea of what I’m going to make. Yea! I made Polenta Rounds with Sausage & Peppers last night. I used the farmer’s market beef sausage you mentioned. Wow! That was delicious! My friend Rob came over for dinner, and he was impressed with my cooking. And, I’ve been making enough for lunchtime leftovers so I’m not starving. Christine

Meal Making Renewal

Mary is practical, consultative and respectful of your existing habits while offering new ideas that totally make sense.  I really feel renewed in my kitchen and recommitted to healthy, organic ingredients, which I’ve always favored but sometimes compromised.  Cooking is a pleasure, once again.  I’m grateful to Mary for her help, and I’m amazed at how little it costs for the result I got.

Beating Mealtime Boredom

As a professional organizer, my entire house is completely organized and efficient from top to bottom. However, my recipe book was a disaster and I was experiencing a real slump in the cooking department and tired of always making the same things. For some time now, I have wanted to incorporate more variety into my dinners as well as healthier meals. Mary provided me the tools, motivation and inspiration to tackle these issues. The simple strategies she provided for healthier eating even appeal to my finicky daughter. Mary really listened, got a handle on my issues, and then she provided practical, easy solutions and guidance. It was a pleasurable experience and well worth the time and money.”
Robin Miglarese, Clutter Queens Professional Organizers

Just looking at this all laid out gives me goose bumps.  I’m totally into this concept of making life easy for me.
