I’m excitedly getting ready for this year’s Summer Camp. I pulled together class outlines last week and am deciding now what vegetable-rich recipes we’ll be making.

Those who have taken my classes know you get a multi-faceted, innovative and motivational learning experience. They are really cooking classes + a lot more. The “a lot more” is all the kitchen and mindset skills, systems and strategies to truly transform your meal making.
If you haven’t had a chance to take one of my classes (and even if you have!) take a look at today’s video. You’ll get to make a dessert recipe that’s not only good-tasting but good-for-you (can you believe that’s possible?!) You’ll also get a taste of what a New Kitchen meal making class is like.
Discover things like:
- How does a dessert get in the good-for-you category?
- How can you get the best results when using a food processor or chopper?
- When buying strawberries can you just use the big flats that are on sale for only $2.99?
- What are Medjool dates that many natural foods desserts call for?
- What is “automatic portion control?”
- How do you toast coconut without ruining it?
- What’s the one deal-breaker instruction that most recipes fail to include–and most home cooks forget to do?
After watching the video, imagine having more of those kinds of engaging learning experiences. If that sounds appealing, then join me for a week of Summer Camp. It’s a lot of fun to cook, explore, chat–and eat–with others who are traveling the healthy eating path.
But hurry, this is an intimate, small-group workshop that is limited to just 6 people. It will take place in my kitchen in central Boulder, so we can access my gardens, seasonal CSA produce and al fresco dining table (if it’s not too hot.) That’s why I’m keeping it small, so leave a comment below right away if you’d like to reserve a spot.
Now for the video . . .
It’s a cook along video. In other words, I go at a real-time pace so you can cook along as you watch and at the end you get a lovely dessert + a lot of enriching additions to your “cooking knowledge database.”
- Here’s the recipe
- Here’s what you need at the store: fresh strawberries
- Here’s where your healthy, helpful pantry comes in, stocked with everything else you need: dates, coconut, cocoa powder and cinnamon.
- Here’s from your garden or herb box: The optional mint (but if you don’t have any, you can use mint extract from the pantry.)
